Couple of New Paintings

Links

A friend yesterday asked to see a few articles of mine, so I dug up some links. They're mostly short ones and I've excluded the ones which are just reporting bylines or really little things, but maybe of interest:

Recent
Wired: Short article about the 2nd Avenue Subway.
Wired: The Tunguska blast in fiction.
Forbes Traveler: Ayurvedic spas in India.
Forbes Traveler: Modernist architourism.
Mediabistro: Interview with the editor of the LA Times.
Mediabistro: Interview with the editor of Complex magazine.
Good Magazine: Short piece about psychogeography in New Orleans.
New York Times: Sports story about a gambling NBA ref.
New York Magazine: How to buy, cook and eat a lobster.

Classics
New York Press: Eating fish out of the East River.
Providence Phoenix: Boxing story I wrote in college.

Crustacean Fixation

I'm pretty sure that Rachel doesn't know about this blog, so am posting the latest painting I've been working on, which is going to be a birthday present. It's been kind of a fun one, and it's not quite done yet. Am still trying to figure out what to do about the shadow of the tail in the back, and cleaning up little details on the inside. All in all I'm pretty happy with it, though, which is unusual for me.

Newish Painting

This isn't really complete yet. I can't seem to get the colors right.

New Painting of Adella

I'm still working on this one. I can't seem to get it perfect; just layer upon layer of paint. (Photo is a little blurry.)

From New Orleans

Self-Portrait

The resolution isn't great on this. Am trying to experiment with new styles.
